The Power of Seasonal Evergreen Content: How to Get a Consistent Surge of Views Every Year

If you’re serious about growing your YouTube channel, you need to think long-term. Most creators are stuck on the content treadmill, pumping out videos that get a quick spike in views and then fade into oblivion.

But what if you could create videos that not only keep bringing in views but also spike in popularity at the same time every year?

This is where seasonal evergreen content comes into play.

Imagine having a handful of videos that you know will drive a massive influx of traffic like clockwork every single year.

All you need to do is:

  1. Identify key moments in your niche’s calendar.
  2. Create high-value content and release the video around the time of peak demand.
  3. Watch as your views climb year after year.

Let me give you three examples across different niches:

1. Fitness and Wellness:

Every January, millions of people set New Year’s resolutions to get in shape. If you release a video like “Get Fit This January: Your 30-Day New Year Workout Challenge” it’s going to be relevant every single year. You can count on it bringing in thousands of new viewers right when people are motivated to start fresh. Fitness in general is pretty evergreen so if you could create multiple videos like this, the channel is going to look pretty healthy over the long-term.

2. Productivity:

Every September, as new students gear up for the academic year, there’s a surge in interest around starting the year off strong at uni. A video titled “How to Ace Your First Year at University: A Guide From a Top 1% Student” could become a staple for this channel, driving a spike in views each year as people look to reset their routines.

3. Cooking:

Thanksgiving is pretty big, so a video like “How to Make the Perfect Thanksgiving Dinner” can become a recurring favorite, especially if it’s a really good recipe as those viewers are going to return for a refresher every single November.

Now, the trick here is not to just have one of these videos, but a dozen of them.

Think about your channel having 12 videos like these—one for each month—giving you a consistent boost in views and subscribers all year long. That’s a pretty strong strategy to implement over the next year.

If you’re someone who releases four videos a month, then dedicated one video a month to seasonal evergreen content and help get yourself off the content hamster wheel.

I have done this for a number of my clients and one that I’ve mentioned a few times is over on the GrowVeg channel.

Recently, my pal George Blackman asked me to breakdown how I did this for them on our podcast Making It. Watch it here.

They chat about his incredible journey from barista to billionaire entrepreneur. They explored his insights on money, success, and happiness and how he has navigated the challenges that come with wealth.

It was pretty interesting to see how the two of them were trying to get closer to the other’s business model. I guess the grass always is greener!
